Prajakta Technology Pvt. Ltd. has initiated a pilot-scale, farmer-linked sourcing model for its flagship air-dried tomato bits (0.5–2 mm and 2–4 mm)—widely used as seasoning ingredients across food applications.
Under this initiative, Prajakta has established a direct farm-to-OEM vendor linkage, ensuring complete traceability and quality assurance from cultivation to dehydration.
As part of the pilot, Prajakta Technology has signed MoUs with 8 progressive farmers, providing them with key inputs and guidance on demand-based farming, MEL farming practices, and productivity enhancement. This structured approach aligns farm output with market requirements while improving farmer confidence and returns.
The first seasonal slot of tomatoes was successfully processed this week. Participating farmers will now be supplying approximately 1,500 kg of fresh tomatoes daily, directly to the processing facility.
To maintain superior quality, the tomatoes are processed within a couple of hours of harvest, preserving freshness, colour, and functional properties. The air-drying process ensures a clean, consistent product suitable for seasoning and industrial food use.
Encouraged by the success of this pilot, Prajakta Technology plans to scale this model to 100 farmers in the coming season, strengthening its backward linkage and creating a sustainable, traceable, and farmer-inclusive supply chain.
